The Challenge Foundation employs a team of experienced, educated, and highly dedicated professionals who work with our mentors, teachers, students, and their families to ensure that Challenge Scholars reach their full potential academically, personally, and as members of our community.
Don McFall, Founder and CEO
Don McFall, a successful Colorado businessman who had worked with homeless and underprivileged populations, wanted to create a unique program for at-risk youth who could have a bona-fide chance of escaping the cycle of poverty. In the mid-1990s, Don gathered a like-minded group of citizens and formed The Challenge Foundation, Inc., a Colorado non-profit which provided academic opportunities for these students:Â intense summer school for middle school levels and scholarships for independent college prep high schools.
Kelly Holley (Ed.M.), Chief Operating Officer
Kelly joined The Challenge Foundation in the summer of 2011 after working in independent schools for several years. Her experience and knowledge of independent school environments gives her a strong insight into the support services required for success in a rigorous academic program. Kelly believes that all students who demonstrate an excitement for learning, regardless of their family’s ability to pay, should have access to the best education possible. She loves serving Challenge scholars in all three of our locations. Kelly earned a B.A. from Middlebury College and a master’s degree in Education from Harvard.
